  Dear Brothers:
  
  This letter replaces the letter dated July 3, 2009, to all bodies of elders. The direction con-
  tained in that letter has not changed and has been repeated in paragraphs 2-5 of this letter. Thus,
  the July 3, 2009, letter should be removed from the congregation permanent file of policy letters
  and should be destroyed. Paragraphs 6-8 of this letter contain further direction on the use of min-
  isterial servants where the number of elders is limited.

  Don't really see anything sinister here. Info evidently is same as 7/3/09 letter. May just want to keep files uncluttered and prevent accidentally pulling out "old policy" letter. Destroyed basically means "shred", which is a good business practice. In theory it should help keep info confidential, but we all know that doesn't happen.

  "Youth book" said 97% of teenagers Masturbate...but none of them are Witnesses! Is this unrealistic?

  "youth" book and "young people ask" admitts that 97% boys and 92% of girls masturbate but of course none of the holy decent witness teenagers would ever do such a thing and earn jehovahs anger!

  how realistic is this?

  97% of the world have t.v's or a telephone!

  7) two members of the opposite sex are bound to be screwing like bunnies if left alone for a few minutes (unfortunately, this turned out to be a lie too)

  One month that I was an Aux.Pio., the only ones that showed up on one rainy morning for FS was myself and an attractive Pioneer sister. We both had studies scheduled and needed the hours so we went out in FS together. We are probably the only 2 JW's in history to do this and not have sex.

  Circuit Overseers

  some circuit overseers leave lasting impressions either for good or bad.

  others i barely remember.

  three that had the most impact on me were rodricks (that's how it's pronounced, not sure of the spelling), casino and shepherd.

  We didn't get along very well. After a falling out, he admonished me and my wife, "that we should do the WTS a favor and just leave the organization" We did.

  What a loving brother this CO was. F'n self-righteous jerk.

  I called the elders today, they are meeting tonite about my husband

  today i found my husbands patient advocate card, and guess what my name is not on it.

  it has been filled out by all of the elders.

  took a copy for myself, and left him a note to let him know that i had a copy.

  A question about marriage in the organization

  Think About It

  I'll admit, I always preferred the older brothers, because the ones my age were just goofy. Actually, I mentioned on another post that I saw the reverse in another circuit where a 53 year old woman married a 23 year old, close to her son's age. I'm sorry there is an ick factor to that for me, especially since her children are closer to her husband's age.

  My mom had been dating, seriously, a divorced JW who seemed on the verge of asking her to marry him. He was 37. She was 36 at the time. They had been dating for approximately 9 months and were the talk of the circuit. He was an MS and visited our congregation all the time. He was a Vietnam vet and very handsome. He was a business owner and was very well off. My mother was on Cloud 9. She was the envy of all the single (and some married) Sisters. They got married at OUR KH and we were even invited. My mom went into a deep depression and didn't get out of bed for three months.

  VIII..........what a terrible experience for your mother. What also is troubling about something like this......is a sister at that age is still very attractive, but she is running out of her prime years. She could very easily find a man outside of the org., but she would get harassed about it by the elders because the guy wasn't a JW. The younger girls are taking the guys her age and she's discouraged from dating outside the org. It's a tough spot to be in. My advise is to find love wherever and go for it. To hell with what the elders think.

  Think About It

  I wish the puritan fools in Brooklyn would leave this subject alone and use the time, ink & paper to talk more about Jesus. Two of my most embarrassing moments in JW's had to do with masturbation. Was volunteered by the PO to give a talk to the cong. about masturbation. I never saw so many young people be so uncomfotable in my life. The other was a meeting where a woman my age confessed to masturbating herself. As a young elder, I really didn't want to hear that.

  Do you live in the real world?

  i just read an article about increasing numbers of people who spend their time online rather than off line.

  their freinds are online and not physicaly there as well.. then i started thinking about the dubs, who live in a fanstay of paradise coming soon etc etc.

  Think About It

  I've always considered myself living it the real word. Public schools, competitive sports, college, etc. My work was highly technical and lots of interaction with various types of people. Even my time in the JW's was the real world. Got to interact with highly religious people of the same mind and the FS got you in touch with people of various religious views. Have travelled extensively to different cultures. Have lead people in the workforce and in personal business.

  Never seen this online world coming. I am becoming more an online person now. Make my living being online now. It's to the point where I have to force myself to go out and do the things that use to be common and routine. I'm up for making new online friends if anybody wants to shoot me a PM.

  Did you know anyone on disability who pioneered?

  another thread got me thinking about this:.

  in the area i live in, its not uncommon for people to be "ill" enough not to be able to hold a job, but they still regular pioneer.. when i was younger, someone tried to hook me up with this girl.. i called her and we chatted for a while.

  i asked her what she did for work - "oh, well i am a pioneer".

  Think About It

  Although morally and ethically wrong, if it accomplishes a righteous cause (WTS agenda) it will not be an issue. Lot's of people in society from all religions are scamming the system. JW's as a group probably rank pretty low.
